Patria, a family Equipping Center, deems Prayer as one of the most important aspects of the life of a Christian. Prayer is a way of life. Prayer undergirds the life of the Church, the Ecclesia and the Body of Christ. Prayer is the life blood flowing through the veins of the Body, feeding every cell of every single part of the Body. Without it the Body will surely die.

Other than all Congregants being encouraged to a life of prayer, within each of the Patria Ministries, members are encouraged to become Prayer Warriors, with their specific “bias” towards the Ministry they are serving in, and thereby become part of the "central" Prayer Team. This ensures the total Body is served.

However we also believe that Worship is tied in with Prayer as a way of life of a Christian. We live a life of reverence to the Lord - worshipping Him in not only song, dance and praise, but by the total way we conduct our lives on a daily basis. This, together with continued prayer, sets one up for a full life in and through Jesus Christ.

We furthermore believe that before we enter His presence in prayer, before we make our requests known to the Lord (as the Word actually instructs us in Phil 4: 6 "Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."), we should enter His presence with Worship, Praise and Thanksgiving from a position true humility, through and by the understanding of how big and beautiful He is and what the cross and resurrection really did for us!

Psalm 100 puts the above into perspective: (Amplified version)
1 A Psalm of thanksgiving and for the thank offering. MAKE a joyful noise to the Lord, all you lands!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness! Come before His presence with singing!
3 Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. [Eph. 2:10.]
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!
5 For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.

The Prayer Group, through worship, thanksgiving and prayer encourage all to be fully equipped as stated in 2 Tim 3:17 "So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work."
