We are the Church

As everybody should be aware by now, we are using the month of May to prepare for our move to Tramonto as our new venue. As a congregation, we are so happy to see this day come and we know the change will bring its own challenges and joys. The Lord is always faithful to His word and He has led us to this new era as congregation, therefore we must use this opportunity as a moment of shaping and preparing of what is to come.

It is of vital importance that we remember a few things as we prepare for this:

  1. The Church is NOT  a building! We form the Church and we gather in buildings… sometimes even on a lawn, homes, coffee shops or at the beach…
  2. Patria is not the Church, we form part of the Church, but we are a congregation with a mandate to function as part of the Church in George and surrounding area to see families restored.
  3. As part of the Church we pray for the success of all other congregations that form part of His Church and whole-heartedly follow Christ as King.
  4. We form part of a movement called Every Nation that exists to love and honour God as Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, socially responsible churches and campus ministries in every nation. Our focus is therefore inward when it comes to our equipping so we can impact outwards as Church.
  5. Patria means: “Family that relates to the Father”. Therefore we want to build diligently to reflect the Authentic Church that does not serve with mere words, but with action.

Let us always remind ourselves that Christ chose to live through the Church so that we could be the display of HIM:

His heart, His love, His fruits and His desires.

Eph. 3:8-12

This grace is given to me (who am less than the least of all saints) to preach the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ among the nations, and to bring to light what is the fellowship of the mystery which from eternity has been hidden in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ; so that now to the rulers and powers in the heavenlies might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose to which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord; in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through His faith.

We pray that as HIS family,  we will use every opportunity to glorify our King - even a move to a new venue! Let’s join in this pursuit and pray together for the great things to come through our unity.
