Unity in Love

When Jesus walked the earth during His ministry period He spoke about the Kingdom of God that will be re-established through His Church. All authority has been given to Jesus and He is the head of His Church (God’s governance on earth).God’s Kingdom expansion is done through His Church and every person (gift) that forms part of His Church has a personal relationship with Jesus and must love other believers as part of the church. When we walk in love and maturity, we display unity and displayGod’s plan worked through Jesus. We are celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ over this period. We have been sanctified and saved by the sacrifice of Jesus. Let’s look at what Jesus prayed for and how we should live as the Church.

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17:20-23 NIV

When we live in unity and love one another, we display that God loves the world. We need to reflect on this and what we display. We need to work at unity and love. Love is not a feeling - it is an act of your will! Look at what James states;

“For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” James 3:16 NIV

We should not be naïve when we resist evil and expand the Kingdom of God. This attack against unity is continuous and will always be there until the final judgement day. The word says be diligent and be vigilant and do not waver in your zeal and endurancefor Christ Jesus and His Kingdom. God called us to rule and reign through Jesus Christ! Let’s read this finalscripture as encouragement;

“For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!” Romans 5:17 NIV
