Gill and I, with a group of friends started Patria on 14 August 1991. It grew steadily from the start and in 1993 we bought the synagogue where we still meet today. As grateful as we are for the wonderful building we meet in, we realise that it is not the church. The church is a family, a hospital, an army and a government all rolled into one. It is a place where we come to be restored, equipped and trained to be sent out as ambassadors. As citizens of the Kingdom we are on the King’s business.
We do not allow ourselves to become comfortable with unrighteousness and injustice. We are on a mission to see society transformed. The Lord needs every one of us to be fit to go into this community as world changers. Won’t you too enlist in this mission?
Gathered in worship are many folk whose lives have been transformed. Some have been delivered from addictions, marriages have been restored, relationships mended and some have been healed of sickness. Our exuberance in worship comes from a real gratefulness to the Lord who has changed our lives. We have also discovered a new purpose and way of living, it is a great adventure, not always easy but most fulfilling. We invite you to join us on this exciting journey.
